Due to the passing of a member of the council, a supplementary election was necessary to fill the vacancy of councillor for Eyre ward.

The voters roll for this supplementary election closed at 5:00 pm on Tuesday 30 November 2022.

Candidates

At the close of nominations at 12 noon on Thursday 13 January 2022, a total of 3 nominations were received and accepted for the supplementary election. In accordance with the Local Government (Elections) Act 1999, a draw was held to determine the order of candidates names to appear on the ballot paper. 	Wayne TREDREA Owner operator of a manufacturing business for over 25 years. Strengths are in coordinating, prioritising, time management and taking responsibility for actions. I also believe communicating with my employees and customers is key for success. From the age of 5, I have been enjoying everything the river communities have to offer from Morgan, Mannum, Bow Hill and now as a property owner for 15 years in Blanchetown with my family. Currently, I am involved in the below committees: President - Blanchetown Shack Owner Association (BSOA); Treasurer - River Murray Boating Recreational Advisory Group (RMBRAG); Committee Member - Blanchetown Community Services Committee (BCSC). Being involved with several committees has given me the experience, motivation, enthusiasm and passion to help communities improve. 	Deb BROKENSHIRE With a passion for country communities, and comprehensive understanding of council procedures, I am a professional who can 'hit the ground running' ensuring no time is wasted in achieving results for the Mid Murray district. Future opportunities for MMC are endless, benefiting tourism, business and residents, and I am extremely dedicated to working together with the community, current Councillors and administration to explore all the exciting opportunities that are available. My positive approach and proactive attitude mean I strive to get things done and not just talk. Having 30+ years experience in local government in a variety of roles ranging from Customer Service, Human Resources, Governance to Director Community and Corporate, my understanding of local government and the importance of working with community and community inclusion is unquestionable. 	GAMERTSFELDER, Jakob I have lived in Eyre Ward since 2012. I strongly believe that small towns can grow, that our future can be better. I want to help achieve that regrowth.
