The Coorong District Council is currently reviewing how their members are elected. As part of this review, the Council has proposed to change the principal member of the Council to an elected Mayor instead of an appointed Chairperson.
In October 2021, all enrolled voters in the Coorong District Council will receive a voting pack in the post. Voters will be asked to choose if they support changing the principal member of the Council to an elected Mayor instead of an appointed Chairperson.

The voters roll for this supplementary election closes at 5pm on Tuesday 31 August 2021.
You can check if you are on the state electoral roll online on the Australian Electoral Commission's website (external link). If you do not appear on the roll and are an Australian citizen aged 18 or over you should enrol immediately via the Australian Electoral Commission website (external link).

The poll will be conducted entirely by post with the return of ballot material to reach the Returning Officer no later than 12 noon on Tuesday 26 October 2021.
