Kanpi, Nyapari, Angatja, and Watarru electorate

Due to the death of a male representative in the Kanpi, Nyapari, Angatja and Watarru electorate, a supplementary election is now required and will be run according to the election timetable below. 


There are 7 electorates within the APY Lands. Each electorate is represented by one male and one female on the APY Executive Board.

The electoral roll closed on Friday 30 June 2023. If you are unsure if you are correctly enrolled, you can check your enrolment online.


Nominations open for one week from Monday 31 July until Monday 7 August 2023. 


A person nominating for the APY Executive Board must:

  • be Anangu
  • be 18 years of age or over on or before polling day
  • be enrolled on the state electoral roll at an address in the electorate (please note the electoral roll closed on Friday 30 June 2023)
  • not have been found guilty of a serious offence in the last 10 years.

How to nominate

You must complete a nomination form and provide a photograph of yourself (head and shoulders) and submit this along with either a criminal history report or a national police check application. The handbook and nomination form will be available soon. 

When to nominate

Nominations are open for one week from 9 am Monday 31 July until 4 pm on Monday 7 August 2023. Late nominations will not be accepted.
