Voting options

The state coordinator has given approval for electors, who are COVID-19 positive or otherwise under a direction to isolate or quarantine, to leave their home to drive directly to and from a designated pick-up site to collect a voting pack and drive to a post box to return their ballot papers.

Criteria

  • You have tested COVID positive and are in SA Health directed isolation
  • You are a close contact of a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
  • You are unwell or have COVID-like symptoms.

As of 5:00 pm Wednesday 16 March, if you meet one of the criteria above and wish to vote in the 2022 State Election, you will need to register* at cvs.ecsa.sa.gov.au to collect your voting pack from a PCR or RAT collection site.

Simply fill in the required details and you will receive instructions on how to pick up your voting pack from a PCR or RAT collection site in your district. Voting packs are available on Thursday 17, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 March.

*If you are having trouble registering your details, please read our FAQ on registration issues.

Completing your ballot papers and returning them to ECSA

Upon collecting your voting pack with your ballot papers, you must drive home and complete your vote at home.

  • Fill in the declaration envelope and complete your ballot papers before 6:00 pm Saturday 19 March.
  • Place the envelope and ballot papers in the reply-paid envelope and drop them into your nearest post box as soon as possible to ensure they are included in the count.
  • Ballot papers must arrive at ECSA by 5:00 pm on Friday 25 March.

Please do not attend a polling booth if you are ill. Being unwell and unable to attend a polling booth is a legitimate excuse for not voting. You can let us know you won't be voting using our online enquiry form (choose the dropdown option 'voting' on the form and include your date of birth and enrolled address in your message).
