Can’t get to a polling booth
Polling day for the 2019 Cheltenham and Enfield by-elections is Saturday 9 February. On that day polling booths will be open in your electoral district between 8am and 6pm.
For those voters who are unable to get to a polling booth on polling day, a range of options are available depending on your location and circumstances.
EARLY VOTING
Early voting centres (pre-poll) will be open from Tuesday 29 January until Friday 8 February. Please note, at by-elections only voters with a valid reason are entitled to vote early.

POSTAL VOTING
In order to vote by post, you need to complete an application for a postal ballot pack
.
Applications close at 5pm on Thursday 7 February.
Voters located interstate and overseas can vote by post, but take into consideration postal delivery times and the final date for receipt of your ballot paper : 16 February 2019.

INTERSTATE VOTING
Being out of the state doesn’t mean you have to miss out on voting at the 2019 Cheltenham and Enfield by-elections. You can vote from interstate by voting in person at one of our interstate voting locations.

VOTING IN HOSPITAL OR A NURSING HOME
To allow voters who are residents of hospitals, nursing homes and other similar institutions the opportunity to cast a vote in person at the by-elections, trained electoral visitor teams will visit local institutions in early February 2019. Patients and residents of these institutions may also apply for and cast a postal vote.
