Supplementary elections

Supplementary elections may occur when a position becomes vacant within the Executive Board. A vacancy can occur due to death, illness, resignation, or any other circumstances outlined in section 9D of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Land Rights Act 1981.

Due to a casual vacancy of a member of the Executive Board, a supplementary election was called.

Nominations

You can choose to nominate yourself to stand as an APY Executive Board Member.

You can nominate if you are:

  • Anangu
  • Male
  • have your name on the electoral roll and be a resident in your electorate by Friday 22 February and,
  • have not been found guilty of a serious offence in the last 10 years.

When and how to nominate

Nominations open on Tuesday 26 February 2019.
Nominations close on Tuesday 5 March 2019.

If you want to nominate, follow these steps:

  1. Obtain a nomination and a police check application form.
  2. Complete the two forms.
  3. Return the forms to the school's principal at the specified location and date.

Important
When you nominate you must have proof of identity — this might be your driver’s license, or other cards that have your name. The electoral worker at the school can help you to complete the forms and will take your photo.

Where to nominate

Nominations must be made on the nomination form available from the Mimili Anangu School Mimili 872 SA from Tuesday 26 February 2019. Completed nomination forms must be handed back to the school's principal.

Voting eligibility

You must be a member of the Mimili community and you must be an adult 18 years or older to vote.
