A supplementary election is necessary to fill a vacancy for Ward Councillor for Corcoran Ward, Wattle Range Council.

Close of Roll

The voters roll for this supplementary election will close at 5pm on ​Friday 28 June 2019.

You will be automatically sent a voting pack if you are enrolled on the state electoral roll. You can check if you are on the state electoral roll online on the Australian Electoral Commission's website (external link). If you do not appear on the roll and are an Australian citizen aged 18 or over you should enrol immediately via the Australian Electoral Commission website (external link). 

If you are not eligible to enrol on the state electoral roll you may still be entitled to enrol to vote if you own or occupy a property or are a resident non - Australian citizen.  Contact the Council to find out how on 8733 0900 or visit www.wattlerange.sa.gov.au/enrol (external link).

The nomination period for the vacancy of Ward Councillor for Corcoran Ward will open on Thursday 25 July 2019 and will close at 12 noon on Thursday 8 August 2019

If you are interested in nominating, nomination kits will be available from the Wattle Range Council’s principal office at the Civic Centre on George Street, Millicent in late July.

A candidate briefing session will be held for intending candidates in July with dates to be confirmed closer to the event.

Mail out of voting material

Voting material will be mailed to electors between Tuesday 20 August 2019 and Monday 26 August 2019. To be accepted, ballot papers must be completed and returned to reach the Returning Officer no later than 12 noon, Monday 9 September 2019.

A ballot box will be located at the main Council Office for electors who wish to personally deliver their completed voting material during office hours.

Scrutiny and count

The scrutiny and count of ballot papers will be held at the ECSA office at Level 6, 60 Light Square, Adelaide, commencing at approximately 1:00pm on Tuesday 10 September 2019. Provisional results are expected to be announced on the afternoon of Tuesday 10 September 2019.
