Can’t get to a polling booth

Polling day for the 2019 Cheltenham and Enfield by-elections is Saturday 9 February. On that day polling booths will be open in your electoral district between 8am and 6pm.

For those voters who are unable to get to a polling booth on polling day, a range of options are available depending on your location and circumstances.

EARLY VOTING

Early voting centres (pre-poll) will be open from Tuesday 29th January until Friday 8 February. Please note, at by-elections only voters with a valid reason are entitled to vote early.

VOTING IN HOSPITAL OR A NURSING HOME

To allow voters who are residents of hospitals, nursing homes and other similar institutions the opportunity to cast a vote in person at the by-elections, trained electoral visitor teams will visit local institutions in early February 2019. Patients and residents of these institutions may also apply for and cast a postal vote.
