Supplementary elections

Supplementary elections may occur when a position becomes vacant within a Council. A vacancy can occur due to death, illness, resignation, or any other circumstances outlined in section 54(1) of the Local Government Act 1999 External link.

Due to the resignation of a member of the Council, a supplementary election is necessary to fill the vacancy for Councillor for Levels Ward. For more information, visit the Council's website:

The voters roll for this supplementary election closes at 5pm on Tuesday 28 February 2017.

You are entitled to vote in the election if you are on the State electoral roll. If you have recently turned 18 or changed your residential or postal address you must complete an electoral enrolment form that is available from the Electoral Commission SA or a post office.

If you are not eligible to enrol on the State electoral roll you may still be entitled to enrol to vote if you own or occupy a property. Contact the City of Salisbury External link to find out how.

Nominations to fill the vacancy open on Thursday 23 March 2017 and close at 12 noon on Thursday 6 April 2017.

The election is conducted entirely by post with ballot materials to reach the Returning Officer by 12 noon on Monday 8 May 2017.
