Supplementary elections

Supplementary elections may occur when a position becomes vacant within a Council. A vacancy can occur due to death, illness, resignation, or any other circumstances outlined in section 54(1) of the Local Government Act 1999 External link.

Due to the resignation of a member of the Council, a supplementary election is necessary to fill the vacancy of Councillor for Balmoral Ward. The timetable for this election is available below. For more information, visit the Council's website:

Nominations to be a candidate for election as a member of the City of Tea Tree Gully will be received between Thursday 27 April and 12 noon, Thursday 11 May 2017. Candidates must submit a profile of not more than 150 words with their nomination form and may also provide a photograph, predominantly head and shoulders, taken within the previous 12 months.

A briefing session for intending candidates will be held at 7.00pm on Thursday 27 April 2017 at the Banksia Room, Civic Centre, 571 Montague Rd, Modbury.
